Potato Flakes – Make Home Made Bread Soft and Spongy

Potato flakes are good for more than fast mashed potatoes. Add 1/4 cup of potato flakes per loaf to your bread recipe, and even 100% whole wheat bread will be soft and spongy like store-bought bread. You can have 100% whole wheat PB&J and perfect grilled cheese sandwiches. If you made a loaf of bread every day, you would need 9 cans of potato flakes from the cannery, which is the cheapest place to buy potato flakes.

To make instant mashed potatoes seem less instant, try adding milk instead of water and a little sour cream or cream cheese for a richer, homemade flavor. Then beat them the way you would real mashed potatoes to give them that light, fluffy texture.
